Amazon’s Prime Video has launched ‘Jack Ryan: Ghost War’, a new feature film continuing the story of the hit espionage franchise based on Tom Clancy’s novels. The film, now streaming in more than 240 countries and territories, sees John Krasinski reprise the role of CIA analyst-turned-operative Jack Ryan after the original series concluded its four-season run on the platform.

According to an Amazon statement yesterday, the new film follows Ryan as he is pulled back into espionage after an international covert mission exposes a deadly conspiracy tied to a rogue black-ops unit. The story reunites Ryan with CIA operative Mike November and former CIA official James Greer, while introducing MI6 officer Emma Marlowe as a new ally. Amazon described the mission as the “most personal” and high-stakes challenge faced by the team so far.

The cast includes Krasinski alongside Michael Kelly, Wendell Pierce and newcomer Sienna Miller. Max Beesley, JJ Feild, Douglas Hodge and Betty Gabriel also feature in the ensemble. The film is directed by Andrew Bernstein, with a screenplay by Aaron Rabin and Krasinski, while Noah Oppenheim and Krasinski developed the story.

Amazon said all four seasons of ‘Jack Ryan’ remain available on Prime Video. The series follows Ryan’s evolution from desk-bound CIA analyst to field operative tackling international conspiracies and geopolitical threats across Europe, the Middle East, South America and Russia. In its final season, Ryan takes on internal corruption within the CIA after becoming Acting Deputy Director.

The streamer also highlighted the wider ‘Jack Ryan’ universe available through Amazon platforms. Readers can access the 28-title ‘A Jack Ryan Novel’ book series in print, Kindle and audiobook formats, beginning with ‘The Hunt for Red October’. Prime Video subscribers can also stream or access Tom Clancy-related titles including ‘Without Remorse’, ‘The Division: Agent Origins’ and the film adaptation of ‘The Hunt for Red October’.

Amazon added that Prime Video’s broader programming slate includes original series such as ‘Cross’, ‘The Summer I Turned Pretty’, ‘The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power’, ‘Fallout’, ‘Reacher’ and ‘The Boys’, alongside live sports, films and partner subscriptions.
