Prime Video has announced that the third season of its fantasy drama series ‘The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power’ will premiere on November 11.
The streaming platform also unveiled the first teaser trailer for the upcoming season, giving fans a glimpse of the larger battles and conflicts ahead in Middle-earth.
According to a PTI report from Log Angeles today, the announcement was made during a special panel at San Diego Comic-Con’s Hall H.
Series creators and showrunners J D Payne and Patrick McKay were joined by cast members Cynthia Addai-Robinson, Owain Arthur, Ismael Cruz Cordova, Charlie Vickers, Daniel Weyman and new cast member Jamie Campbell Bower to discuss the new season.
The teaser shows Middle-earth heading towards an intense war as the dark forces of Sauron continue to rise. The upcoming season will focus on Sauron’s mission to strengthen his power and move closer to completing his plan of forging the One Ring, a key element in the world created by J R R Tolkien.
Season three is expected to explore the growing tensions between different kingdoms, the impact of Sauron’s return and the battles that will shape the future of Middle-earth.
The series continues to expand the events set in Tolkien’s Second Age, featuring the origins of major alliances, powerful characters and the rise of darkness before the events of ‘The Lord of the Rings’ trilogy.
The first two seasons of ‘The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power’ received global attention for their large-scale production, visual effects and exploration of Tolkien’s fictional universe.
