Prime Video has announced the release date of its upcoming science-fiction series ‘Blade Runner 2099’. The series will premiere on November 25, with all eight episodes available to watch on the same day.
According to an official Amazon news yesterday,the announcement was made during a panel at San Diego Comic-Con, where the cast and creators shared details about the new series. Actors Michelle Yeoh and Hunter Schafer introduced the show and gave fans a glimpse of the new story set in the ‘Blade Runner’ universe.
‘Blade Runner 2099’ is set 50 years after the events of the film ‘Blade Runner 2049’. The series takes viewers into a future world where humans and Replicants continue to live together while facing new challenges and conflicts.
The story follows Cora, a woman hiding from her past who becomes a Blade Runner, and Olwen, a Replicant whose life is coming to an end. Together, they go on a mission to find a person who holds a secret that could change their world.
The series stars Michelle Yeoh and Hunter Schafer in lead roles. Silka Luisa serves as the showrunner, while filmmaker Ridley Scott is attached as an executive producer.
With a new storyline, futuristic setting and connection to the popular ‘Blade Runner’ films, Prime Video’s ‘Blade Runner 2099’ will bring another chapter to the iconic sci-fi franchise. The series will start streaming on November 25.
