Prime Video has unveiled its new Telugu original film ‘Cheekatilo’, marking another addition to its growing slate of regional Indian content. The crime suspense drama features Sobhita Dhulipala in the lead role and is scheduled to premiere on the streaming platform on January 23.
According to a PTI report, the announcement was made in Mumbai on January 8, with Prime Video describing ‘Cheekatilo’ as an edge-of-the-seat thriller rooted in the world of true crime. The film follows the journey of a true crime podcaster whose relentless pursuit of the truth leads her into the darkest and most brutal secrets hidden within the city.
Directed by Sharan Kopishetty, ‘Cheekatilo’ blends suspense and investigation, placing its protagonist at the centre of a narrative driven by curiosity, danger and moral conflict. The story is positioned to explore not just crime, but the psychological cost of uncovering uncomfortable truths.
The film is produced by D. Suresh Babu under the banner of Suresh Productions Pvt Ltd, a name long associated with prominent Telugu cinema projects. Alongside Sobhita Dhulipala, the cast also includes actor Viswadev Rachakonda in a key role.
With its focus on crime, media and hidden realities, ‘Cheekatilo’ adds to Prime Video’s efforts to bring genre-driven, locally rooted stories to a wider audience. The film will stream exclusively on the platform from January 23.
