Prime Video has announced a landmark multi-year collaboration with Maddock Films, acquiring worldwide-exclusive post-theatrical streaming rights for eight highly anticipated films set to release between 2025 and 2027.
The announcement, made through a press release, underlines Prime Video’s intent to cement its position as the global home for some of India’s most-awaited blockbusters. The deal will make Maddock Films’ titles available to Prime subscribers across more than 240 countries and territories, shortly after their theatrical release.
As part of this slate, Prime Video will exclusively stream Maddock’s hugely popular horror-comedy universe, which continues to attract a cult following. This includes ‘Thama’, along with two additional untitled films in the franchise that will be revealed later. With ‘Stree 2’ having already become a massive streaming success, the platform is looking to replicate and expand that momentum worldwide.
The collaboration also brings to Prime Video ‘Param Sundari’, starring Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor, which is slated for a theatrical premiere on August 29, 2025. Alongside, sequels such as ‘Shiddat 2’ and ‘Badlapur 2’ will extend Maddock’s existing hit franchises. Other major titles include ‘Ikkis’, directed by Sriram Raghavan and headlined by Agastya Nanda, with more films expected to be announced in the coming months.
Dinesh Vijan, founder and CEO of Maddock Films, said the partnership reflects their shared vision of taking Indian storytelling to the global stage. “From our horror-comedy universe to our most beloved franchises, our endeavour has always been to create worlds that audiences love to revisit. This strategic long-term post-theatrical licensing deal is a natural extension of our shared vision,” he said.
Manish Menghani, director and head of content licensing at Prime Video India, added that the collaboration strengthens the platform’s promise to bring compelling stories to audiences worldwide. “This multi-film slate not only builds on the unique and wildly popular horror-comedy universe and franchise sequels but also brings in a distinctive blend of creative originality and fresh storytelling that is synonymous with Maddock,” he said.
The announcement marks the latest step in the longstanding relationship between Maddock Films and Prime Video. Earlier collaborations have brought hits like ‘Stree 2’, ‘Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya’, and co-production ‘Bhool Chuk Maaf’ to the platform, along with the original series ‘Jee Karda’.
With this new deal, Prime Video has positioned itself as the exclusive streaming home for some of the most eagerly awaited Indian films, ensuring Maddock’s storytelling continues its journey far beyond cinema halls.
