Prime Video has released the official trailer and key art for ‘Young Sherlock’, a new action-packed mystery series directed and executive produced by Guy Ritchie, with Hero Fiennes Tiffin stepping into the role of a young Sherlock Holmes.
The eight-episode series is set to premiere globally on March 4, 2026, exclusively on Prime Video across more than 240 countries and territories.
According to a press release issued by Prime Video, ‘Young Sherlock’ reimagines the origin story of the world’s most famous detective, presenting an irreverent and high-energy take on his early years. The series traces the journey of a charismatic, rebellious adolescent Sherlock as he becomes embroiled in his first major case, one that not only tests his intellect but also threatens his freedom.
Set against the backdrop of a vivid Victorian England and extending into international locations, the story begins when a young Sherlock crosses paths with James Moriarty. What follows is a murder investigation that unfolds into a globe-spanning conspiracy, ultimately leading to a confrontation that shapes Sherlock’s destiny and sets him on the path to becoming the legendary figure of Baker Street.
The ensemble cast features Dónal Finn, Zine Tseng, Joseph Fiennes, Natascha McElhone, Max Irons and Colin Firth in key roles. Guy Ritchie has directed the first two episodes, while the series has been created for television by showrunner Matthew Parkhill, who also serves as an executive producer alongside a seasoned production team. Physical production for the series has been led by Motive Pictures.
With its blend of mystery, action and character-driven storytelling, ‘Young Sherlock’ aims to offer a fresh lens on a timeless literary icon.
The trailer hints at sharp dialogue, dynamic set pieces and a darker, more anarchic tone that aligns with Ritchie’s signature style, positioning the series as one of Prime Video’s major global releases for 2026.
