Prime Video has unveiled the trailer for ‘Dupahiya Season 2’, giving viewers a glimpse into the new troubles, twists and comic misadventures waiting for the residents of Dhadakpur. The second season of the Prime Original series will premiere on October 1, 2026.

Directed by Sonam Nair, ‘Dupahiya Season 2’ is created and produced by Salona Bains Joshi and Shubh Shivdasani under the banner of Bombay Film Cartel LLP. The series is created and written by Avinash Dwivedi and Chirag Garg.

The new season picks up from where the first season ended and brings back the ensemble cast of Gajraj Rao, Renuka Shahane, Sparsh Shrivastava, Bhuvan Arora, Shivani Raghuvanshi and Yashpal Sharma. Dinesh Lal Yadav, popularly known as Nirahua, joins the cast in the new season.

The trailer takes viewers back to Dhadakpur, a village once known for being crime-free. Bhugol may have found fame in the village, but it has come at a cost, while Banwari and his family find themselves caught up in a fresh round of chaos.

A new mobile tower coming up on Banwari’s barren land becomes the centre of rumours, superstition and mayhem in the village. At the same time, Roshini is racing against time to prepare for her SSC examination, with Amavas by her side.

With new hurdles and unexpected situations surrounding the characters, the second season continues the show’s mix of humour, small-town characters and everyday situations that spiral into chaos.

Sonam Nair, Director of ‘Dupahiya’, said the series holds a special place in her heart and that returning for the second season has been an exciting journey.

“The love our audiences have shown for season one and the fandom built around it have been incredibly encouraging, and I am confident that season two will be received with the same enthusiasm,” Nair said.

She added that Prime Video’s support for creators and distinctive storytelling made the collaboration particularly fulfilling, while praising the cast and crew for their work on the new season.

Gajraj Rao, who plays Banwari Jha, said the series stands out because, despite being set in a small village, its characters, relationships and everyday struggles remain relatable to audiences across small cities, metros and even outside India.

“Season two promises more chaos, more surprises and, of course, the same warmth and humour that audiences connected with in the first season,” Rao said.

Renuka Shahane, who returns as Pushplata, said she enjoyed returning to the series and its grounded characters. She added that the new season brings fresh challenges while retaining the humour and unpredictable nature of Dhadakpur and its residents.

Shivani Raghuvanshi, who plays Roshni, said returning to the familiar sets and cast was a special experience. She described her character as carefree, impulsive and often responsible for getting herself and those around her into trouble.

Raghuvanshi added that the new season allowed her to explore more sides of Roshni and that she was looking forward to seeing how audiences respond to the character.

Bhuvan Arora, who plays Amavas, said there was something endearing about returning to the world of ‘Dupahiya’. He added that the second season retains the eccentricity and humour of the first season while introducing twists that also surprised him.

Sparsh Shrivastava, who plays Bhugol, said the character is different from the roles he has played previously. According to Shrivastava, the new season gave him an opportunity to explore Bhugol’s contradictions and unpredictable side in greater depth.

‘Dupahiya Season 2’ will premiere exclusively on Prime Video across India and in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide from October 1, 2026.
