In a significant move to enhance its digital presence and expand its content portfolio, Prasar Bharati has announced a partnership with Shucae Films OTT, a rising name in India’s web entertainment space.
The collaboration is set to bring a host of Shucae’s original digital series to Prasar Bharati’s OTT platform, WAVES, with select titles also finding a slot on its national television network.
According to a press release issued by Prasar Bharati, the alliance is part of the public broadcaster’s continued efforts to modernise its content strategy and engage younger, digital-savvy audiences. With the fusion of Prasar Bharati’s massive distribution strength and Shucae Films’ creative storytelling, the partnership seeks to deliver high-impact, inclusive content tailored for contemporary viewers.
WAVES, the digital extension of Prasar Bharati, has been steadily growing as a platform that offers compelling narratives rooted in Indian culture, aspirations, and innovation. Known for hosting original programming like ‘The Lions’ Den’, WAVES now expands its catalogue to include Shucae’s popular digital shows such as ‘Jaane Kyun’, ‘Ek Ke Peeche Ek’, ‘Love Forever’, ‘It’s a Match’, ‘Yeh Hai Meri Love Story!’, ‘Belt’, ‘Bolo Pencil’, ‘Pyaar Ke Panne’, and ‘3rd Stanza’.
Speaking on the collaboration, Gaurav Dwivedi, CEO of Prasar Bharati, said, “This partnership reflects our commitment to offer vibrant, diverse and engaging content to audiences in India and beyond. Our OTT Platform WAVES continues to evolve as a digital-first platform showcasing the best of Indian storytelling.”
Manoj Doogra, CEO of Shucae Films, echoed the sentiment, stating, “We’re excited to collaborate with Prasar Bharati and leverage WAVES OTT’s reach to bring our stories to a broader, more connected audience. It’s an ideal platform to co-create content that truly resonates.”
