Planetcast Media Services has appointed media industry veteran Kaushal Nanavati as Senior Vice President – Sales & Business Development (Domestic), as the company strengthens its leadership team to drive growth across India’s rapidly evolving media and content services sector, according to his LinkedIn profile.

Nanavati joins Planetcast with more than 25 years of experience spanning broadcasting, content distribution, syndication, digital media, and business development. His appointment comes at a time when media companies are increasingly adapting to a converged ecosystem where television, streaming, and digital platforms are becoming closely interconnected.

Over the course of his career, Nanavati has held leadership positions across some of the industry’s most prominent media and entertainment companies. Most recently, he served as Co-Founder of Medical Nexus Infrastructures and Content Bridge between 2024 and 2026. Prior to that, he was Chief Revenue Officer at Cosmos Maya India, where he played a key role in driving revenue growth for the animation and entertainment company.

A significant chapter of his professional journey was spent at Shemaroo Entertainment, where he led the company’s international and India digital businesses. During his nearly seven-year tenure, he held senior leadership roles including Senior Vice President – International & India Digital Business and Vice President – International Business. In these positions, he was instrumental in expanding content monetisation opportunities and strengthening the company’s presence across global markets.

Before his stint at Shemaroo, Nanavati spent more than eight years with The Walt Disney Company. As Director – International Distribution, DTH Distribution and Syndication, he was responsible for overseeing content distribution strategies across multiple platforms and markets, gaining extensive experience in both traditional broadcasting and emerging distribution models.

His career also includes leadership assignments at UTV Software Communications and Zee Entertainment Enterprises, where he worked across areas such as content syndication, film distribution, international business, and strategic partnerships.

Industry observers note that Nanavati’s appointment aligns with broader shifts taking place within the media and entertainment industry. As broadcasters, content owners, and technology providers increasingly focus on integrated distribution strategies, executives with expertise across television, digital, and international markets are becoming increasingly valuable.
