Cignal TV, the Philippines’ leading pay TV provider, has launched the pilot version of its new OTT aggregation platform, Cignal Super, in partnership with Tata Play Binge.
This collaboration, revealed during ongoing APOS ’24 in Bali, is part of Tata Play Binge’s global expansion after a successful partnership with Akash Digital TV in Bangladesh.
The app, currently in a test phase, is set to be commercially launched in the coming months.
According to Tata Play’s press release, the Cignal Super app, built on Tata Play Binge’s cloud technology, aims to provide subscribers in the Philippines with seamless access to a wide range of OTT services, including VIU, Lionsgate Play, Curiosity Stream, Fuse+, Pilipinas Live, and Cignal Play. With a unified subscription model, it will enable users to access diverse content such as movies, TV shows, and live TV channels, all through one streamlined interface.

Harit Nagpal, Managing Director and CEO of Tata Play, highlighted the platform’s universal appeal and rapid deployment capability, stating, “We’re delighted to reach another milestone with Tata Play Binge now powering Cignal Super in the Philippines. The launch of the Akash Go app and now the Cignal Super app demonstrates the universal appeal of our platform and our rapid delivery times, allowing partners to create their own branded app.”

Jane Jimenez-Basas, President and CEO of Cignal TV, expressed excitement over the launch, noting that Cignal Super is the first of its kind in the Philippines. “With content becoming increasingly fragmented and streaming subscription prices rising, we believe this service will be compelling and relevant for our customers,” she said. The platform aims to simplify content access by merging multiple apps into one, offering unified content discovery and affordability.
The launch of Cignal Super further demonstrates Tata Play Binge‘s role in enabling OTT aggregators globally. The PaaS (Platform as a Service) model allows potential OTT providers to focus on content creation, partnership building, and subscriber acquisition, while Tata Play handles the technological complexities of service aggregation.

This latest move reinforces both Cignal TV’s and Tata Play’s commitment to enhancing the streaming experience and providing subscribers with accessible, high-quality content in a cost-effective manner.
