News18 Marathi concludes ‘Bappa Morya Re’ campaign with 85-pandal competition

News18 Marathi has concluded its 20-day integrated ‘Bappa Morya Re’ campaign, bringing together special programming and on-ground engagement ahead of and during the Ganpati celebrations across Maharashtra. The campaign brought together political leaders, cultural personalities and popular names from the Marathi entertainment industry to celebrate one of the state’s most prominent festivals.

A key highlight of the campaign was the Ganpati Pandal Competition, which saw participation from 85 pandals across Maharashtra. The participating pandals were evaluated on parameters including décor, presentation and other aspects of the overall celebration, making the initiative a wide-ranging competition spanning different parts of the state.

The campaign featured several prominent public representatives, including Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Water Resources Minister Girish Mahajan, Sakoli MLA Nana Patole, Transport Minister and Dharashiv Guardian Minister Pratap Sarnaik, Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule, FDA Commissioner Tukaram Mundhe, former Mumbai Mayor and BMC Leader of the Opposition Kishori Pednekar, and Mumbai Mayor Ritu Tawde, among others.

The campaign also brought together prominent names from the Marathi entertainment industry. Participants included the cast of ‘Hanuman Ansh’ — Vishal Chaturvedi, Namrata, Ragini, Shobhinav and Sadhu; ‘Psycho Ranga’ actors Janhavi Killedar, Smita Gondkar and Devendra Choughule; ‘Sunday 1996’ cast members Ganesh Yadav, Onkar Raut and Pankaj Vishnu, along with director Jeevan Rajendra Chavan; and ‘Dashami’ actors Makarand Anaspure and Gauri Ingawle. Kailas Waghmare and the cast of ‘Gondhal’, India’s official entry for the 99th Academy Awards, also featured in the campaign.

Through ‘Bappa Morya Re’, News18 Marathi highlighted its connection with Maharashtra’s cultural traditions and community celebrations. The campaign was co-presented by Oxyrich and co-powered by Pitambari Devbhakti Agarbatti, Reliance Industries Limited, SBI and Fortune Plus Refined Soyabean Oil. SVC Co-operative Bank Ltd., Dr. Bawaskar Technology (Agro) Pvt. Ltd., JSW Neosteel, Macroman and Malkist were Special Partners, while Senco was the Jewellery Partner and Maharashtra Pollution Control Board was the Associate Sponsor.
