News18 Kerala’s flagship anti-drug Campaign 2025 (AD 2025) is gathering pace across the state with overwhelming public participation. After successful sessions in Cochin on June 10 and Kozhikode on July 15, the campaign is now set for its next stop in Kottayam on August 26, 2025, at K.E. College, Mannanam, starting at 10am. The initiative will culminate with a grand finale in Thiruvananthapuram next month.
According to a press release, the campaign aims to create awareness about the dangers of drug abuse and its wide-reaching impact through open conversations and collective action. Strong turnout and positive engagement at the previous editions have exceeded expectations, reinforcing the urgency and relevance of the initiative.
Over the past sessions, AD 2025 has explored crucial themes such as the root causes of drug usage, including social and cultural factors; its devastating impact on families and communities; preventive measures through awareness and education; the role of law enforcement and rehabilitation; and the collective responsibility of government, NGOs, media, and citizens.
Both the Cochin and Kozhikode editions drew large crowds, featuring dignitaries, celebrities, and cultural performances that inspired action among youth, educators, and community leaders.
The upcoming Kottayam edition will feature a panel of speakers including the District Collector, Police Commissioner, Excise Officer, Social Influencer, Psychologist/Doctor, and a Student Representative. Together, they will share insights on tackling substance abuse at both individual and community levels.
With each edition, News18 Kerala’s anti-drug campaign is expanding its reach and impact. Citizens, especially young people, are encouraged to participate in the Kottayam session and contribute to the mission of building a drug-free Kerala.
