News18 India has once again emerged as the country’s most-watched digital news destination, dominating YouTube viewership during the high-voltage Bihar election results.
According to a News18 India press release, as per full-day Playboard data for November 14, the channel recorded an impressive 172 million views, outpacing all competitors by a wide margin.
NDTV India followed with 142 million views, while Aaj Tak posted a significantly lower 36 million views, underscoring News18 India’s strong viewer preference during one of the most closely watched political events of the year.
To deliver comprehensive and real-time updates, News18 Network mounted an extensive coverage plan led from its bustling Control Room and amplified by unmatched field reporting. With reporters deployed across 46 counting centres in 38 districts, the network captured every twist of the electoral battle — from constituency trends to reactions of key political leaders and voters on the ground.
The coverage was powered by a formidable anchor lineup, including Kishore Ajwani, Amish Devgan, Rubika Liyaquat, Prateek Trivedi, Aman Chopra, and Pankaj Bhargava. More than 150 reporters and video journalists, supported by a dedicated team of 50 editorial personnel at one of India’s largest Live Results Hubs, ensured seamless flow of verified, on-ground updates throughout the day.
Viewer response reflected the scale of this effort. Live streams from News18 India, News18 Bihar & Jharkhand, and News18 MP & Chhattisgarh crossed the one-million concurrent viewer mark on YouTube early in the day, signalling the audience’s growing anticipation as the political contest intensified.
The latest Playboard numbers reinforce News18 India’s leadership in the digital news ecosystem and highlight the trust viewers place in the network’s speed, accuracy, and depth during major political developments.
