Netflix has unveiled the trailer of ‘Made in Korea’, offering audiences a heartfelt first look at a cross-cultural coming-of-age story that traces the emotional journey of a young woman from Tamil Nadu to South Korea.
The trailer introduces viewers to Shenba, a small-town girl from Tamil Nadu whose life takes an unexpected turn as she travels to the vibrant and unfamiliar city of Seoul. Set against the everyday rhythm of both Tamil Nadu and Seoul, the story follows Shenba as she navigates new surroundings, meets unfamiliar faces, and slowly finds her place in a world far removed from home.
Directed and written by Ra. Karthik and produced by Rise East Entertainment, the film brings together Indian and South Korean talent to create an emotional cultural bridge. The project stars Priyanka Mohan alongside South Korean actors Park Hye‑Jin and No Ho‑jin, blending two cultures through a story rooted in identity, belonging and personal growth.
Speaking about the film, Priyanka Mohan said the character’s journey resonated deeply with her. “Made In Korea and Shenba’s journey is deeply personal to me. It’s about discovering strength in moments of uncertainty and learning to stand on your own. Portraying her evolution from vulnerability to independence was both challenging and deeply rewarding. This being my first collaboration with Netflix makes it even more special, and I’m grateful that Shenba’s story will travel beyond borders and connect with audiences around the world,” she said.
The trailer highlights moments of vulnerability, quiet courage and unexpected connections as Shenba adjusts to life in a new country. Through these experiences, the narrative explores themes of self-discovery, friendship and the courage to shape one’s own future.
With warmth, sincerity and a strong cross-cultural narrative at its core, ‘Made in Korea’ promises an uplifting story that reflects the challenges and hopes of young people navigating unfamiliar paths while holding on to their roots.
The film is set to premiere on March 12, exclusively on Netflix.
