Streaming giant Netflix has released the trailer for the upcoming movie ‘Bhakshak’, starring Bhumi Pednekar as an investigative journalist.
Backed by superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment, the crime drama is inspired by true events and directed by Pulkit. The film is set to premiere on Netflix on February 9, PTI reported from Mumbai.
‘Bhakshak’ follows journalist Vaishali Singh, played by Pednekar, as she exposes a heinous crime at a girls’ shelter home. The star-studded cast includes Sanjay Mishra, Aditya Srivastava, and Sai Tamhankar. Gauri Khan, Shah Rukh Khan’s wife, is credited as the producer alongside Gaurav Verma.
Shah Rukh Khan, sharing the trailer on social media, called it “A story of resilience that needs to be told”. Pednekar, known for her preference for unconventional roles, expressed her excitement about ‘Bhakshak’ being one of the most significant films of her career.
Directed by Pulkit from a script co-written with Jyotsana Nath, the film aims to tell a powerful narrative inspired by true events. Pednekar emphasized her commitment to roles that push boundaries and ignite discussions for meaningful change.
