Acclaimed filmmaker Neeraj Pandey brings his latest venture, ‘Sikandar Ka Muqaddar’, to Netflix this November. Known for gripping narratives, Pandey has once again crafted a high-stakes action-adventure heist film. The movie’s ensemble cast includes Jimmy Shergill, Tamannaah Bhatia, and Avinash Tiwary, all working together for the first time.
Avinash, reminiscing about the film’s unique development process, remarked, “It’s the shortest script I’ve read. I thought it was incomplete until the climax pages arrived.” He praised how the story evolved into a layered narrative under Pandey’s direction.
Having collaborated with Neeraj before, Jimmy Shergill praised the director’s meticulous approach, “His long single-shot scenes are a challenge for actors, demanding precision and focus. Rehearsing from early morning to nail it by afternoon showcases his dedication. Neeraj’s work ethic is unmatched.”
Shergill, a veteran of the industry, expressed admiration for the opportunity to re-team with Pandey, calling the experience both challenging and rewarding.
Tamannaah, collaborating with Pandey for the first time, highlighted his knack for transforming everyday moments into cinematic magic, “He treats mundane events cinematically, making them magical. Experiencing this firsthand was a delight.”
She also shared her camaraderie with co-star Avinash, noting their seamless on-screen chemistry, rooted in mutual warmth and respect.
Avinash Tiwary recounted his early admiration for Jimmy Shergill, revealing how the veteran actor inspired him during his formative years, “I read Jimmy’s interviews after Maachis and wanted to emulate his journey. Performing alongside him was surreal, a full-circle moment.”
He also recalled meeting Tamannaah during their teens at a workshop. “I first met her when she was in 9th grade. Seeing her now, she’s just as remarkable,” he shared.
The film promises nail-biting tension, sharp performances, and Pandey’s signature blend of intellect and emotion, with the story revolving around themes of loyalty, ambition, and redemption.
Streaming begins on November 29 on Netflix in over 240 countries and territories.
