Streaming giant, Netflix is working on a new feature ‘Kids Clip’ which is similar to TikTok or Instagram Reels.
It is an attempt to surface child-friendly content and is designed to show short clips taken from its library of children’s content.
According to ANI, Kids Clip is a similar feature that was launched by a streaming giant earlier this year to promote its comedy content called ‘Fast Laughs’.
Both features have a similar aim to promote Netflix’s content using short clips similar to what users are already watching on social media.
The Kids Clips feature builds on Fast Laughs but the videos will appear in a horizontal format just like how movies and shows are displayed.
Fast Laughs has a more TikTok and Instagram Reels-like format where you swipe to watch videos vertically.
Earlier, Netflix has also ventured into mobile gaming with five new titles for Android users. These games are available on the Netflix app but have to be downloaded from the Google Play Store.
As for Kids Clips, Netflix has started testing this feature in the US, Canada, Australia, Ireland and Spanish-speaking countries in Latin America. There’s no word on when the feature will be made official.
