Netflix has given the green light for additional episodes of the sci-fi series ‘3 Body Problem’ to wrap up the story, announced creators David Benioff, D.B. Weiss, and Alexander Woo.
Based on Liu Cixin’s acclaimed novel ‘The Three-Body Problem’, the first season premiered in March, receiving widespread acclaim. The trio of creators expressed their excitement to bring the story to its ‘epic conclusion’ after being captivated by Cixin Liu’s trilogy, PTI reported.
“We’re thrilled that we get to tell this story through to its epic conclusion,” said Benioff, Weiss, and Woo in a joint statement. “Ever since we read the last page of Cixin Liu’s magnificent trilogy, we hoped we’d be able to bring the audience to the end of the universe with us. Here we go!”
Peter Friedlander, VP of Scripted Series at Netflix, praised the creative team’s vision and partnership, anticipating that the series would reach “never-before-seen heights” as it progresses through the story.
‘3 Body Problem’ creators Benioff and Weiss have also renewed their overall deal with Netflix, promising new series and films. Alongside the continuation of ‘3 Body Problem’, they are working on the ‘Death by Lightning’ series.
Initially planning to adapt Liu’s trilogy into four seasons, the creators are now set to conclude the story in the upcoming episodes, promising an exhilarating journey for fans of the series.
