Rahul Kanwal has said that the verdict day coverage by NDTV and NDTV India has received an overwhelmingly positive response from viewers, calling it the beginning of a strong comeback in election reporting for the network.
Sharing his views on X, Kanwal noted that elections have remained central to NDTV’s identity for over three decades, and the latest coverage reflects the network regaining its footing in a space it has historically dominated. He emphasised that the response from audiences across platforms signals renewed engagement and credibility.
He also highlighted that several key newsmakers chose NDTV as their first and exclusive platform on verdict day, indicating a growing level of trust and relevance. According to him, this was further reinforced by a sharp surge in live video consumption and website traffic, pointing to strong audience interest during the high-stakes coverage.
Kanwal expressed gratitude to viewers for their support and said the current momentum is only the beginning. With major elections in states such as Uttar Pradesh and Punjab on the horizon, he suggested that NDTV is gearing up to build on this performance and strengthen its position in election coverage once again.
The remarks come at a time when competition among news networks intensifies during election cycles, with audience attention increasingly split across television, digital platforms, and social media. NDTV’s latest performance, Kanwal indicated, marks a step towards reclaiming its legacy in comprehensive and credible election journalism.
