Former WWE star and Hollywood actor Dave Bautista is reportedly being considered to play Kratos in the upcoming live-action ‘God of War’ series after actor Ryan Hurst exited the project.
According to an ANI report, the makers are looking at Bautista as the new face of the iconic video game character. While no official casting announcement has been made, his name has emerged as the leading choice following Hurst’s departure.
The live-action adaptation is based on Sony’s popular ‘God of War’ video game franchise, which follows Kratos, a powerful Spartan warrior, on his action-packed journey through Norse mythology alongside his son, Atreus.
Hurst, who voices Kratos in the ‘God of War Ragnarök: Valhalla’ DLC, was previously linked to the role. However, after his reported exit, Bautista has become the frontrunner to take over the character.
Dave Bautista is widely known for his performances in Marvel’s ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’, ‘Dune’, and ‘Knives Out’. Fans have long expressed support for him to portray Kratos because of his strong physical presence and action-film experience.
