NDTV launches Golf ProAm at World Summit 2025

NDTV has announced the launch of the NDTV Golf ProAm at the recently concluded NDTV World Summit 2025, unveiling what is being hailed as one of the most exclusive and aspirational events on India’s corporate golf calendar.

According to a press release, the tournament’s format draws inspiration from global ProAm traditions, where professional golfers team up with amateurs, offering corporate executives a rare chance to play alongside top-tier professionals. Designed to blend competition with camaraderie, the NDTV Golf ProAm aims to create a dynamic platform where business leaders and sporting legends connect beyond the confines of boardrooms.

The tournament will travel across major Indian cities — including Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Kolkata — creating a multi-city golf circuit that NDTV promises will be “exclusive, aspirational, and unforgettable.” The launch event, held at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, featured an eminent lineup of guests, including Kapil Dev, cricket legend and President of the Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI); Amandeep Johl, CEO of PGTI; Amitabh Kant, former G20 Sherpa; David Howell, member of the DP World Tour; and Ajeetesh Sandhu, a seven-time professional titleholder.

Speaking at the launch, Amitabh Kant described golf as the sport with the greatest growth potential in India. “The sport with the maximum potential in India right now is golf. India is going to produce all the top champions of the world. Our demographic is very young — our average age is just 28. For the next 30 years, the world’s top golfers will come from India,” he said.

Echoing this sentiment, Kapil Dev called golf an inclusive and lifelong sport. “This is one game where you can play at whatever age you are. It’s very difficult for a cricketer or footballer to roll their arm at 50. Here, you can play with your father, your grandchildren, your friends, your wife. That’s why this game is so big,” he remarked. Expressing gratitude to NDTV for launching the initiative, he added, “As golfers, thank you so much for starting this. The media still hasn’t taken it up the way it should. When I heard that you were trying to do a Pro-Am, I can’t tell you how happy we were — and how happy the golfers were. They said, at least we will come on television.”

The NDTV ProAm is an extension of NDTV’s evolving strategy of creating marquee experiences that go beyond television. Over the years, the network has successfully built flagship properties spanning business, culture, and live events — and the ProAm now adds sport to that portfolio. The initiative, NDTV says, reflects its ongoing commitment to integrating leadership, lifestyle, and sports into one cohesive platform that resonates with both audiences and participants.

Announcing the vision behind the event, Rahul Kanwal, Editor-in-Chief and CEO of NDTV, said, “We are very excited about this ProAm because it gives golf in India the kind of scale and platform that sports like cricket typically get. It deserves that profile and that stage. That is what we hope to do with NDTV ProAm.”

The tournament will be broadcast and amplified across NDTV’s television and digital platforms, bringing the energy, drama, and elegance of the greens to millions of viewers nationwide. With its perfect blend of prestige, competition, and visibility, the NDTV Golf ProAm is poised to become the most coveted event in India’s corporate sporting calendar — a true celebration of leadership, ambition, and connection both on and off the course.
