TukTuki, India’s homegrown micro-drama entertainment platform, has launched ‘Devaa’, its first culture-based mythological superhero original series. Set against the backdrop of Ganesh Chaturthi, the series is now streaming on the platform and combines Indian mythology, festival culture and high-stakes drama in a short-form format designed for mobile audiences.
According to a press release, ‘Devaa’ follows Devaa Kadam, a 26-year-old delivery boy working for the ‘Turant’ app and living in Mumbai’s Ambedwadi chawl. His life changes when his community comes under threat from Sikand Realty, a ruthless real estate firm. After receiving divine powers through Bappa’s ancient tusk, Devaa takes on a red gamcha as his mask and becomes the “Pandal Phantom”, a street-level protector fighting to save his chawl and defend its residents.
The series marks a new creative direction for TukTuki, with the platform building its superhero mythology around the sights, sounds and emotions associated with Ganesh Chaturthi rather than adapting a conventional global superhero template. The story brings together human conflict and ancient supernatural forces while placing a local community and its festival at the centre of the narrative.
Anshita Kulshrestha, Founder and CEO of TukTuki, said India has always had its own superheroes who live in its temples, chawls, festivals and faith. She said Devaa was created to present that idea through a format that could connect with young audiences watching on their phones, while keeping the story rooted in a specific Indian community and setting. Kulshrestha described the series as the beginning of a new storytelling universe for TukTuki.
‘Devaa’ is also TukTuki’s fourth fully AI-led movie release, highlighting the platform’s focus on combining artificial intelligence with Indian narratives. The production uses AI workflows for virtual world-building, dynamic digital characters and mobile-optimised visual effects as the platform continues to explore new formats for short-form mobile entertainment.
With Ganesh Chaturthi forming the cultural and emotional backdrop, ‘Devaa’ aims to bring mythology, community, action and superhero storytelling together in a micro-drama format. The series is currently streaming on TukTuki.
