Meta, the parent company of Facebook, is in discussions with AI startup Anthropic for a potential $10 billion deal that could run over the next two years. According to a Reuters report, the talks are still in the early stages, and no final agreement has been reached.

Under the proposed deal, Meta will provide AI computing infrastructure to Anthropic, including access to its data centres and high-performance computing systems. Anthropic will use these resources to train and operate its AI models, while Meta is expected to receive payments for providing the computing capacity.

The proposed partnership could help Meta generate a new revenue stream beyond its core advertising business. The company has invested billions of dollars in building AI infrastructure and is now looking to monetise those investments by offering computing capacity to other AI companies.

For Anthropic, the deal would secure access to the large scale computing resources needed to develop and expand its AI technology. Demand for AI chips and computing power has increased rapidly as companies race to build more advanced AI models.

Both Meta and Anthropic have not officially commented on the report, and there is no confirmation yet that the deal will be finalised.
