Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, announced new features that will make it easier for users to discover and personalize Facebook Reels recommendations.
The company is introducing new personalization controls for Reels that will allow users to choose what they want to see more of or less of.
The user sees a Reel, taps the three-dot menu at the bottom of the video player and chooses “Show More” or “Show Less.”
This option will begin to appear at the bottom of Reels as well as videos in the Watch feed.
They will click the “Show More” button on a Reel, and Facebook will temporarily boost its ranking score and the ranking score of Reels that like it. Selecting “Show Less” will temporarily lower its ranking score. The Show More and Show fewer buttons were previously added to Facebook’s regular posts, IANS reported.
In addition, Facebook is introducing new labels on the Reels video player to explain why you’re seeing a specific reel.
For example, Facebook will now notify you that a specific Reel is being shown because a friend of yours liked it.
Furthermore, Facebook is making it easier for users to find relevant Reels by adding Reels to the main navigation at the top of Facebook Watch, giving users quick access to short-form videos.
Users will also be able to scroll between Reels and long-form videos when watching videos on Facebook.
