ZEE5 Global is set to add another Tamil action thriller to its slate with the digital premiere of ‘Mask’, which will begin streaming on the platform from January 9, 2026. The film brings together Kavin and Andrea Jeremiah in the lead roles and is expected to reach a wider global audience through its OTT release.

According to a The Times of India report, Mask is written and directed by debutant Vikarnan Ashok and is jointly produced by The Show Must Go On and Black Madras Films. The film is presented by filmmaker Vetrimaaran’s Grass Root Film Company, lending it a strong creative backing. The project marks a notable collaboration between its cast and makers, combining commercial elements with a darker, more grounded narrative.

‘Mask’ unfolds as a gripping action thriller centered on Velu, played by Kavin, a sharp and money-minded private detective whose professional exterior conceals morally questionable choices. His life takes a dangerous turn when he is drawn into a high-stakes investigation involving a mysterious masked gang, powerful forces operating under the guise of charitable organizations, and secrets that threaten to disrupt multiple lives. As the case deepens, Velu is compelled to confront not only the truth behind the crimes but also the consequences of his own decisions.

Speaking about the film’s digital release, Kavin said that ‘Mask’ has already had its journey with audiences and that streaming on ZEE5 Global will help it reach a much wider set of viewers. He added that Velu is a layered character and expressed hope that more people will experience the film’s intensity on the platform.

Vetrimaaran also shared his thoughts, noting that the themes explored in ‘Mask’ remain relevant beyond its theatrical run. He said that the film’s streaming release allows the story to travel further and connect with audiences who may be discovering it for the first time.

The film features music composed by G. V. Prakash Kumar, cinematography by R. D. Rajasekhar and editing by R. Ramar. With its mix of action, suspense and layered storytelling, ‘Mask’ promises a tense and engaging watch when it begins streaming exclusively on ZEE5 Global Tamil from January 9, 2026.
