Marvel Studios has confirmed that its blockbuster hit Avengers: Endgame will return to theatres in September 2026, reigniting excitement among fans as the Marvel Cinematic Universe gears up for a major new phase.
The announcement comes at a time when anticipation is already high for the studio’s upcoming titles scheduled for next year.
According to a UNI report, the re-release of Endgame is strategically timed between two major MCU projects. ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ arrives on July 31, 2026, while ‘Avengers: Doomsday’, the next big ensemble film, is slated for December 18, 2026. The refreshed theatrical run for Endgame begins on September 25, 2026, although Marvel is yet to clarify how long the film will stay in cinemas this time.
Directors Anthony and Joe Russo, who helmed the 2019 global phenomenon, said in a statement, “We can’t wait to share this with you on the big screen again… Avengers: Endgame is back in theatres September 2026.”
Originally released on April 26, 2019, ‘Endgame’ served as a direct sequel to ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ and was the 22nd film in the MCU. With an ensemble cast of Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Don Cheadle, Paul Rudd, Brie Larson, Karen Gillan, Danai Gurira, Josh Brolin and many others, the film became a cinematic milestone. It grossed USD 858 million domestically and USD 1.941 billion internationally, making it one of the highest-earning films in history.
As the MCU prepares for its next chapter, ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ has already generated considerable buzz, especially with Robert Downey Jr. set to return—not as Tony Stark, whose journey concluded in ‘Endgame’, but as the iconic villain Doctor Doom. Other stars expected to reprise their roles include Chris Hemsworth, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Paul Rudd, Tom Hiddleston and Letitia Wright, reported Variety.
The September 2026 re-release is expected to draw longtime fans back to cinemas while introducing one of Marvel’s most impactful films to a new generation, setting the stage for what promises to be another pivotal year for the franchise.
