JioHotstar has announced an expanded partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery to launch HBO Max in India, making the platform the exclusive home for HBO Max content in the country. The integration, which goes live today, marks a significant step in consolidating premium global entertainment under one platform for Indian audiences.
According to a JioHotstar press release, outlining how the new HBO Max hub will bring together content from leading global brands including HBO, Max Originals, Warner Bros. Pictures, Warner Bros. Television, and DC Studios into a single, unified viewing experience.
With this launch, viewers in India will gain access to some of the most anticipated global titles of 2026. These include new seasons of Euphoria and House of the Dragon, along with upcoming projects such as the HBO Original adaptation of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. The platform will also host a wide catalogue of currently streaming titles like ‘The Last of Us’, ‘Succession’, ‘Game of Thrones’, and ‘The White Lotus’.
In a notable addition, popular Warner Bros. Television shows such as ‘Friends’ and ‘The Big Bang Theory’ will now be available to JioHotstar subscribers for the first time, alongside other fan favourites including ‘The Vampire Diaries’, ‘Supernatural’, and ‘The Flash’.
Kevin Vaz, CEO – Entertainment at JioStar, described the move as a “defining moment” in how premium global content is accessed in India, highlighting the platform’s aim to combine scale, curation, and ease of access. James Gibbons, President of APAC at Warner Bros. Discovery, added that India remains a key market, and the partnership with JioHotstar enables deeper audience engagement with globally recognised franchises.
The HBO Max hub will sit alongside JioHotstar’s existing content library, offering users a broader mix of international and local programming. The add-on pack is priced starting at Rs.49 per month, providing access to the HBO Max catalogue along with the platform’s wider international offerings.
With streaming competition intensifying in India, this partnership positions JioHotstar as a stronger destination for premium global storytelling, bringing together blockbuster franchises, critically acclaimed series, and fan-favourite classics under one roof.
