Hollywood powerhouse Jennifer Lopez is all set to headline ‘The Last Mrs. Parrish’, a psychological thriller coming soon to Netflix.
Directed by Academy Award-winner Robert Zemeckis, the film is an adaptation of the 2017 best-selling novel of the same name by Liv Constantine a book that soared to popularity as part of Reese Witherspoon’s Book Club and has sold over a million copies worldwide.
At the center of this twisted tale is Amber Patterson, a young woman desperate to escape her life of struggle. Lopez will step into this complex role, playing a cunning con artist who carefully inserts herself into the lives of the wealthy Parrish family with one goal: to take over the life of the seemingly perfect Daphne Parrish. What begins as an ambitious ploy soon spirals into something far darker, as Amber discovers that not everything inside the gilded walls of the Parrish mansion is as flawless as it appears.
With Zemeckis at the helm, known for cinematic greats like ‘Forrest Gump’ and ‘Cast Away’, the film promises to deliver suspense with emotional depth. The screenplay is being crafted by acclaimed writers Andrea Berloff (Straight Outta Compton) and John Gatins (Flight), both known for their gripping storytelling and character-driven drama.
Lopez is also attached as a producer through her company Nuyorican Productions, alongside longtime collaborators Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas and Benny Medina. They are joined by producers Molly Sims and Liza Chasin, ensuring a strong creative team behind the project.
This film marks another exciting collaboration between Lopez and Netflix, following her previous roles in ‘The Mother’ and the upcoming workplace romance Office Romance. While Netflix hasn’t confirmed a release date yet, anticipation is already building for what promises to be a deliciously dramatic and suspense-filled ride.
‘The Last Mrs. Parrish’ is a story about envy, power, and deception — and with Lopez in the lead, audiences can expect a performance that’s both bold and unsettling in the best way.
