Israeli actors Tsahi Halevi and Amir Boutrous, best known for their roles in the popular series ‘Fauda’ are all set to make their Hindi-language film debut in the upcoming drama thriller ‘Akelli’, starring Nushrratt Bharuccha.
The movie is set against the backdrop of Iraq and revolves around the story of a person discovering her own inner strength and capabilities while facing challenging situations in the desert landscape, PTI reported.
Expressing his excitement, Halevi, who portrayed the pivotal character of Naor in ‘Fauda,’ said, ‘Being a part of the vibrant world of Indian cinema is an incredible opportunity. When I first read the script, I was truly amazed and excited. Working with the entire cast and crew in ‘Akelli’ was a delightful experience, and I am confident that this movie will leave a lasting impact.”
Boutrous echoed similar sentiments. He said, “I believe ‘Akelli’ is the perfect film for me to enter the world of Indian films. The storyline is compelling and carries a powerful message. Moreover, the film boasts an incredible cast. I am thrilled to be a part of this amazing project.”
‘Akelli’ marks the directorial debut of Pranay Meshram, who previously served as an assistant director on projects like ‘Queen‘ and ‘Commando 3‘ He expressed his joy in working with the two talented international actors, stating, “Having Tsahi and Amir in the cast was an exceptional experience, as it beautifully blended the worlds of Indian and Israeli cinema industries. Thanks to the producer Ninad Vaidya, who successfully brought them on board, enriching our ‘Akelli’ team with such remarkable actors.”
Produced by Nitin and Ninad Vaidya, Aparna Padgaonkar, Vicky Sidana, and Shashant Shah, ‘Akelli’ is scheduled to hit the theaters on August 18.
