Instagram, owned by Meta, is undergoing a test phase for an innovative group mention feature that promises to streamline the process of tagging multiple users in a single story-mention.
This addition is poised to enhance the user experience by reducing clutter in stories, offering a cleaner and more engaging visual journey for followers.
In a recent announcement on his broadcast channel, Adam Mosseri, the Head of Instagram, unveiled the concept behind this new feature.
He explained, “We’re experimenting with a way to tag a group of people in a story using a single mention. Once you create a group mention, it can be reused by anyone in the group to automatically tag everyone in any new stories.”
This innovation aims to simplify the process of including multiple individuals in a story, which can be particularly useful during shared experiences like group trips or events.
By introducing this feature, Instagram addresses the need for a more efficient tagging system, sparing users from the hassle of individually tagging each participant.
The result is a more streamlined and visually appealing narrative for followers, making the viewing experience more enjoyable and immersive, IANS reported from San Francisco.
