Sony Pictures Networks India is bringing back its popular dance reality show India’s Best Dancer for a fifth season, promising a grand return with a refreshed judging panel and a renewed focus on celebrating ‘India Wala Dance.’
According to a Sony press release, Season 5 will feature an iconic lineup of judges including Jaaved Jaaferi, Karisma Kapoor, Geeta Kapur, and Terence Lewis. The show will continue to be hosted by Haarsh Limbachiyaa, who returns to anchor the new season.
The upcoming edition aims to highlight a blend of traditional and contemporary dance styles rooted in Indian culture, with contestants showcasing their interpretations of “India Wala Dance.” The format will emphasise not just technical skill but also individuality, emotional depth, and storytelling through performance.
The judging panel brings together diverse expertise, combining technical precision with artistic sensibility and mainstream appeal. Each judge is expected to evaluate performances across parameters such as expression, originality, and connection with the audience, offering a well-rounded critique of the contestants’ journeys.
Sharing her thoughts, Karisma Kapoor said returning to the show feels like coming home, adding that each dancer brings a unique cultural flavour and emotional energy to the stage. Jaaved Jaaferi noted that he is looking beyond perfect steps to discover performers with raw energy and distinctive personality. Geeta Kapur emphasised that the essence of the show lies in dancers who perform with their hearts, while Terence Lewis highlighted the importance of balancing technical mastery with spiritual expression in dance.
Season 5 will spotlight talent from across the country, presenting a wide range of dance forms set to iconic Bollywood tracks, while also aiming to evoke nostalgia through its theme and presentation.
The show is scheduled to premiere on May 9, 2026, and will air every Saturday and Sunday at 9.30 pm on Sony Entertainment Television, with streaming available on Sony LIV.
