The fourth edition of ZEE Samvad with Real Heroes 2026 shone a powerful spotlight on sporting excellence and resilience as ZEE Media Corporation Limited celebrated athletes and grassroots champions whose journeys embody discipline, determination and national pride. The event was held on February 6 at The Fairmont, Mumbai, bringing together inspiring stories from across India’s sporting ecosystem.
As per a press release, a special segment of the evening was dedicated to the Indian Blind Women’s Cricket Team, which received widespread appreciation for its exemplary achievements and contribution to inclusive sports at the grassroots level. The honours were presented by yoga guru and social reformer Baba Ramdev, recognising the team’s perseverance, collective strength and role in advancing women-led, inclusive sporting initiatives from India’s heartland.
The recognition highlighted how sport has become a powerful medium of confidence and opportunity for the players, many of whom come from underprivileged backgrounds. Team members including Simu Das, Anu Kumari, Jamuna Rani Tudu, Anekha Devi, Basanti Hansdah, Simranjeet Kour, Sunita Sarathe, Parbati Marndi, Deepika T C, Phula Soren, Ganga S Kadam, Kavya N R, Sushma Patel, Durga Yevle and Shika Shetty shared their personal journeys, speaking about everyday challenges, limited resources and social constraints, and how cricket helped them build independence, self-belief and a sense of collective purpose.
The evening also celebrated individual excellence across disciplines. Mountaineer Saanvi Sood was honoured for her remarkable achievements in adventure sports, inspiring young Indians to push physical and mental boundaries. Judoka Yogita Mandavi was recognised for her consistent performances and commitment to excellence at the competitive level, reflecting the depth of talent emerging from India’s sporting landscape.
Through these recognitions, ZEE Samvad with Real Heroes reinforced the idea of sport as a catalyst for empowerment, discipline and social mobility, while bringing to the forefront stories that often remain outside the mainstream narrative. The 2026 edition once again underlined ZEE Media’s commitment to celebrating real heroes whose journeys continue to inspire the nation and contribute to shaping India’s future sporting ecosystem.
