In a move that signals how deeply artificial intelligence is beginning to shape global content creation, China’s leading entertainment company Huace Film & TV Co. Ltd. has partnered with U.S.-based Utopai Studios to deploy its cinematic AI system, PAI, as a core engine for long-form storytelling.

According to a Utopai Studios press release, the collaboration will see Huace integrate PAI across its production pipeline to enhance content development, streamline creative iteration, and enable large-scale global localisation. The agreement includes a significant annual usage commitment from Huace, alongside a usage-based revenue-sharing model, underlining the scale and long-term intent of the partnership.

Huace, which has built one of the world’s largest television IP libraries, brings considerable reach to the table, with distribution spanning more than 200 countries and partnerships across over 20 global platforms, including Netflix and YouTube. The integration of PAI is expected to unlock new workflows across development, adaptation, and production, particularly for large content portfolios that demand consistency and speed at scale.

At the centre of the collaboration is PAI, Utopai Studios’ flagship artificial general intelligence system designed specifically for cinematic storytelling. Unlike conventional AI tools focused on short-form generation or isolated editing tasks, PAI has been trained on narrative structure, cinematic language, and continuity, enabling it to support complex, long-form productions. A recent update has further enhanced its capabilities with three-minute 4K video generation and advanced multi-shot sequencing, aimed at maintaining consistency across scenes.

Huace’s decision followed an extensive evaluation of available AI solutions, with the company prioritising systems that go beyond basic content generation. Zhao Yifang, Founder and Chairwoman of Huace Group, noted that the company was looking for a platform capable of supporting narrative quality, creative control, and end-to-end production workflows rather than a standalone tool.

For Utopai Studios, the partnership marks a significant step in its international expansion strategy, positioning PAI within a major global content ecosystem. The company has emphasised its ability to meet enterprise-level requirements, including customisation, data privacy, and regulatory compliance across different markets.

The tie-up reflects a broader shift in the entertainment industry, where AI is moving from experimental use cases to core production infrastructure. With a large-scale player like Huace adopting AI at the heart of its storytelling process, the collaboration points to a future where technology and creativity are increasingly intertwined in shaping global cinematic narratives.
