The laughter and nostalgia of ‘Housefull 2’ returned to television as Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh and Shreyas Talpade reunited on the popular game show ‘Wheel of Fortune’. The special episode brought back memories of the 2012 superhit comedy, with the trio sharing screen space once again—this time swapping film sets for spinning wheels and word puzzles.
Riteish Deshmukh, who appeared on the show along with his wife Genelia Deshmukh, spoke warmly about teaming up with Akshay Kumar again. He said playing the game alongside Akshay made the experience even more memorable, crediting the host’s charm, wit and spontaneity for lifting the energy on set. Riteish added that Wheel of Fortune is a show that keeps the mind racing while ensuring constant laughter, with every spin bringing an element of surprise and excitement.
According to an UNI report, the episode captured a lively atmosphere, marked by friendly banter, quick thinking and plenty of shared laughs among the actors.
Genelia Deshmukh echoed similar sentiments, describing her time on the show as joyful and engaging. She said Akshay Kumar’s infectious energy made the set feel warm and celebratory, turning the shoot into an experience filled with wit and entertainment. Genelia noted that the show strikes a fine balance between intelligence and fun, making it easy for both participants and viewers to stay hooked—from the thrill of guessing the right words to the suspense of each spin.
Actor Shreyas Talpade, also a key part of ‘Housefull 2’, said sharing the stage with “Akshay Dada” is always special. He praised Akshay’s agility and sharp instincts, which, he said, instantly heighten the excitement of the game. Shreyas described Wheel of Fortune as a clever and high-energy format that keeps contestants guessing till the very end, calling it a true test of presence of mind and quick reactions.
For fans, the reunion carried a strong dose of nostalgia. ‘Housefull 2’, released in 2012, featured an ensemble cast including Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, Shreyas Talpade, John Abraham, Asin, Jacqueline Fernandez, Esha Gupta and Zarine Khan.
The film went on to become a major box-office success, and seeing its leading men reunite on television has clearly struck a chord with audiences once again.
