Comedian-actor Kapil Sharma is set to return with the fourth season of his popular comedy talk show, ‘The Great Indian Kapil Show’, which will begin streaming on Netflix from December 20.
According to a PTI report, the new season will see Sharma stepping into a range of characters from GenZ Baba and Tau ji to Raja and Mantri ji, a creative shift aimed at appealing to viewers across age groups. The upcoming season reunites the core cast with Sunil Grover, Kiku Sharda and Krushna Abhishek joining Sharma once again. Archana Puran Singh and Navjot Singh Sidhu are also returning to the show.
In a statement, Kapil Sharma said it is the audience’s affection that keeps him motivated to bring fresh ideas to every new season. “Every time it feels like I have done everything, what else to do with the newer season. But the love and hope of the audience makes the way to do something new,” he said.
Tanya Bami, Series head at Netflix India, said the show has become an essential part of how families connect with the platform. “‘The Great Indian Kapil Show’ is not just a show for us. It’s something that has begun to define family time and Netflix time for India and many Indians outside of our country as well. We are so happy to announce season four,” she said.
Bami added that the new season is particularly special, as Sharma will portray multiple characters in addition to the ensemble cast. “So along with Sunil, Krushna, Kiku, Archana and Sidhu, this season will see the Best of Kapil as well — something that the audience has been waiting for,” she said.
With Sharma’s trademark humour, fresh character sketches, and the entire comic troupe back together, the new season aims to deliver a renewed dose of laughter for fans in India and across the world.
