Hollywood icons George Clooney and Annette Bening are set to share the screen in an upcoming romance drama titled In Love, adapted from author Amy Bloom’s acclaimed memoir ‘In Love: A Memoir of Love and Loss’.
The film will be directed by Oscar-nominated filmmaker Paul Weitz, who is also co-writing the screenplay alongside Bloom, according to a report by Deadline.
Bloom’s memoir, which inspired the film, explores a deeply emotional and modern love story about a couple confronted with an unimaginable decision — one that ultimately honours their unwavering commitment to one another. The story, both tender and heartbreaking, delves into the strength, vulnerability, and profound intimacy that define true love in the face of loss.
Clooney and Bening, both celebrated for their critically acclaimed performances over decades, bring significant star power to the adaptation. Clooney, an Oscar winner known for his roles in ‘Up in the Air’ and ‘The Descendants’, and Bening, celebrated for ‘The Kids Are All Right’ and ‘American Beauty’, last appeared together onscreen in the 2013 sci-fi drama Gravity, though they shared no scenes.
In Love marks another emotionally charged entry in Weitz’s filmography, whose previous works include ‘About a Boy’, ‘Grandma’, and ‘Being Flynn’ all known for their poignant storytelling and strong character-driven narratives.
Further details regarding the production timeline and release date are yet to be announced.
