Actress Madhuri Dixit and actor Jaaved Jaaferi are set to take fans on a nostalgic trip in the upcoming episode of ‘India’s Best Dancer Season 5’. the duo reunited on the show to recreate their popular song ‘Gabbar Singh Yeh Keh Kar Gaya’ from the 1991 film 100 days, more than three decades after its release.
The special episode, themed ‘India Wala Dance’, will feature Madhuri Dixit, Jaaved Jaaferi and the contestants performing together on the iconic track. the recreation came after host Harsh Limbachiyaa requested the two stars to revisit the song. Madhuri happily agreed and invited all the contestants to join them on stage, turning the moment into a grand celebration of Bollywood nostalgia.
According to SONY LIV press release, During the episode, Madhuri also spoke about her love for dance and her emotional connection with audiences over the years. she shared that dance has always been an important part of her life and expressed gratitude for the love she continues to receive from fans. the actress was on the show to promote her upcoming Netflix film ‘Maa Behen’ and said she was overwhelmed watching contestants perform to some of her most memorable songs.
The nostalgic performance was followed by some interesting behind-the-scenes stories from the making of 100 Days. Jaaved Jaaferi revealed that the song was choreographed by Chinni Prakash and was filmed with very little rehearsal time because Madhuri was juggling multiple projects at the time. He praised her professionalism and said she delivered a brilliant performance despite the tight schedule.
Madhuri recalled that 100 Days was considered a unique film for its time because it blended suspense and mystery in a way that was uncommon in Bollywood. she said many fans still tell her how scared they were while watching the film because the suspense kept audiences guessing until the very end. the actress also fondly remembered shooting another song from the film, saying it was a memorable experience.
Adding another interesting fact, choreographer and judge Terence Lewis revealed that 100 Days was made on a modest budget but went on to become a major box-office success, surprising the industry at the time.
