The prestigious Forbes India Leadership Awards 2024, held in Mumbai, celebrated outstanding leaders and innovators from various industries.
The 13th edition of the awards, known for honoring excellence in leadership, innovation, and entrepreneurship, brought together luminaries from business and the film industry, the company said in a press statement.
Brian Carvalho, Editor of Forbes India, highlighted the pillars of leadership, innovation, entrepreneurship, and wealth creation in his welcome address, stating, “FILA encapsulates all that Forbes India stands for.”
Uday Kotak, founder and director of Kotak Mahindra Bank, delivered the keynote address, emphasizing the importance of technological integration for Indian financial institutions. Kotak received the Institution Builder award for his significant contributions to the banking industry.
The Icon of Excellence award was conferred upon Bollywood stalwarts Karan Johar and Shahid Kapoor for their remarkable contributions to Indian cinema and the OTT industry.
Sunil Vachani, Executive Chairman of Dixon Technologies, was honored with the Forbes India Leadership Award 2024 for Entrepreneur of the Year, recognizing his transformative leadership in establishing Dixon Technologies as one of India’s leading electronics manufacturing companies.
Other notable awardees included Bellatrix Aerospace (Emerging Innovator), Tata Motors (Turnaround Star), Professor Ashok Jhunjhunwala (Ecosystem Enabler), Groww (Promising Startup), Mamaearth (Startup Value Creator), Zarina and Ronnie Screwvala (Grassroot Philanthropists), Eeki Foods (Emerging Climate Warrior), Wagh Bakri Tea Group (Regional Goliath), Parth Jindal (GenNext Entrepreneur), and Praveer Sinha (CEO of the Year, Tata Power).
A panel of industry experts, including Sunil Vachani, Sashank Rishyasringa, and Rishi Das, shared insights on leadership during disruptive times, discussing challenges posed by factors like Covid-19 and AI.
