The first week of the Esports World Cup (EWC) 2026 has concluded, with three champions being crowned in VALORANT, Apex Legends and Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves.

In Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, NAVI’s Luis Guadalupe ‘DarkAngel’ Castillo Gomez won the first trophy of the tournament. He defeated Virtus Pro’s Kenta ‘mi2ha4’ Ichihara 4-1 in the final to secure his first major championship title.

According to an Esports press release,Japanese team UNLIMIT claimed the Apex Legends championship after making a remarkable comeback. The team, featuring Yulariman, Xtsuvi and Peace, bounced back after a slow start and won three of their final four games.

They defeated ZETA DIVISION in the deciding match to lift the trophy, while Peace was named the Sony MVP for his performance. In VALORANT, 100 Thieves created history by winning their first international championship.

The team had an unbeaten run throughout the tournament and defeated defending champions NRG 3-1 in the final. Matthew ‘Cryocells’ Panganiban earned the Sony MVP award after delivering a standout performance.

With three titles already decided, the Esports World Cup 2026 continues with upcoming competitions, including Dota 2. Teams will now compete for more trophies and points in the Club Championship standings.
