ET NOW has expanded its presence in the fintech sector by acquiring OpiGo, a stock advisory marketplace and investor engagement platform. The acquisition is part of the brand’s strategy to move beyond business news and create a technology-driven platform for retail investors.
According to a Times Network press release, OpiGo will become a part of the newly launched premium subscription service, ET NOW Pro.
The platform will offer live stock market recommendations from SEBI-registered research analysts, curated investor communities, premium financial content, and access to ET NOW’s pay TV channel.
The aim is to provide investors with trusted financial news, expert research, and investment tools in one place, Times Network said.
Commenting on the acquisition, N Subramanian, Executive Director and Group CEO of The Times Group, said India’s financial ecosystem is witnessing rapid growth as more people are investing in the stock market and ET NOW Pro OpiGo integration will help build a trusted platform that combines financial journalism, technology, expert guidance and investor communities.
ET NOW’s expansion into fintech builds on the success of its digital platform, ETNow.in, which was launched in 2023. The company said the platform has grown rapidly over the past three years and is now among India’s leading digital business news destinations, reflecting the rising demand for reliable financial information.
Founded by Devansh Mehta, OpiGo started as a social investing platform and later evolved into a marketplace connecting investors with SEBI-registered research analysts and advisory services. The platform has recorded nearly 100,000 downloads and has built a strong community of retail investors.
On the pact, Mehta said partnering with ET NOW will help the company expand its vision of making retail investing more transparent, intelligent and accessible.
The acquisition coincides with ET NOW’s 17th anniversary and marks a new phase for the brand.
