The makers of ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’, the direct sequel to the action-thriller ‘Dhurandhar’, have advanced the release of its trailer, surprising fans ahead of the film’s theatrical launch. The trailer, which was earlier scheduled to release on March 5, will now be unveiled digitally on March 3.
According to a UNI report, the decision to prepone the trailer launch comes following the strong response to the first instalment and growing anticipation around the sequel. The makers are expected to drop the trailer online without hosting a physical event, marking a shift from the grand promotional strategy seen during the launch of the original film’s trailer.
A source told Bollywood Hungama that the promo is likely to be released on the occasion of Holi. The trailer of the first part was launched at the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre in the presence of nearly 2,000 fans of Ranveer Singh, making it one of the most talked-about promotional events of 2025.
The original ‘Dhurandhar’ featured an ensemble cast including Ranveer Singh, Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Sara Arjun, and Rakesh Bedi. The story follows an Indian spy who infiltrates Pakistan’s criminal syndicate and political system, triggering widespread chaos. The film opened to a strong response and went on to become a major blockbuster, with its second-week collections surpassing its opening week and eventually emerging as the highest-grossing Bollywood film.
Both the original and its sequel are directed by Aditya Dhar and produced by Jyoti Deshpande of Jio Studios along with Aditya Dhar and Lokesh Dhar of B62 Studios. The sequel is slated for theatrical release on March 19.
Interestingly, ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ is expected to face a major box office clash with ‘Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups’, headlined by Yash, setting the stage for a high-profile competition at cinemas.
With the trailer release now just days away, anticipation is building among audiences eager to see how the sequel carries forward the story and spectacle of one of Bollywood’s biggest recent successes.
