After a successful theatrical run, the Gujarati-language film ‘Laalo – Shree Krishna Sada Sahaayate’ is set to make its digital debut on SonyLIV on March 6, bringing the blockbuster to a wider audience across the country.
According to a PTI report, the film, directed by Ankit Sakhiya, created history by becoming the first Gujarati film to cross Rs 100 crore at the box office. The strong theatrical response positioned the film as a major milestone for the regional film industry and significantly boosted its popularity among audiences.
Expressing his excitement about the OTT release, Sakhiya said the overwhelming response received during its theatrical run exceeded expectations. He shared that the journey of the film has been transformative for everyone involved and expressed gratitude for the love shown by audiences.
“The love we received in theatres was far beyond anything we had imagined. In many ways, life changed for everyone who was part of this journey. As the film now moves closer to its OTT release, I feel immense gratitude towards Laalo (Krishna) and my audience for showing us this next path. What began as a small, rooted story is now ready to become a part of homes across the country, and that is truly humbling for all of us,” the director said in a statement.
Produced by Manifest Films, Jay Vyas Productions, and Ajay Balavant Padariya, the film features Reeva Rachh, Shruhad Goswami, and Karan Joshi in lead roles.
With its digital premiere, the film is expected to reach a broader viewership beyond theatres, further extending its impact. The OTT release marks the next phase in the film’s journey, allowing audiences who missed its theatrical run to experience the story from their homes while reinforcing the growing presence of Gujarati cinema on streaming platforms.
