Ranveer Singh’s blockbuster ‘Dhurandhar’ is set to stream on Netflix from Friday, January 30, following a spectacular theatrical run that saw the film cross the Rs.1,000 crore mark at the Indian box office in just 53 days. The film, which premiered on December 5, has become a landmark success, consolidating its place among India’s highest-grossing single-language releases, UNI reported from Mumbai.
According to box office estimates from Sacnilk, ‘Dhurandhar’ earned over Rs.1 crore during its eighth weekend, holding firm despite the release of the new war drama ‘Border 2’, which collected Rs.180 crore over the Republic Day weekend. The film’s achievement is particularly notable as it becomes the first Hindi-language release to surpass Rs.1,000 crore net, a milestone previously achieved only by multi-language releases such as ‘Baahubali 2: The Conclusion’, ‘KGF: Chapter 2’, and ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’.
Fans of the franchise now have double reason to celebrate, with the sequel, ‘Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge’, scheduled for a grand theatrical release on March 19, 2026.
The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has cleared multiple teaser cuts for the sequel: Teaser 1A received a U/A 16 certificate with a runtime of 1 minute 9.6 seconds, while Teasers 2 and 2A were rated A (Adults Only), with runtimes of 1 minute 48 seconds and 1 minute 9.6 seconds respectively.
With its OTT release imminent and the sequel generating buzz, ‘Dhurandhar’ continues to dominate conversations in both cinema halls and digital platforms, cementing its status as one of the most successful Hindi films in recent years.
