Three popular Hindi films from the early 2000s Shah Rukh Khan-starrer ‘Devdas’, Salman Khan’s ‘Tere Naam’ and Abhishek Bachchan-led ‘Yuva’ are set to make a return to theatres later this month, offering audiences a chance to relive these titles on the big screen.
According to a PTI report, PVR Cinemas announced the re-releases through an Instagram post on Saturday, sharing the dates and celebrating the enduring appeal of the films. The multiplex chain revealed that ‘Devdas’ will re-release on February 6, followed by ‘Tere Naam’ on February 20, while ‘Yuva’ will return to theatres on February 27.
Sharing the announcement, PVR INOX said the month will see romance take centre stage at its cinemas. “Love takes center stage this month! Experience every shade of romance with these blockbuster hits, only at PVR INOX,” the caption read, while also confirming the respective re-release dates for the three films.
Directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, ‘Devdas’ starred Shah Rukh Khan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Madhuri Dixit, and remains one of Hindi cinema’s most visually lavish romantic dramas. ‘Tere Naam’, directed by Satish Kaushik, featured Salman Khan in one of his most memorable roles and went on to achieve cult status over the years. Mani Ratnam’s ‘Yuva’, meanwhile, brought together an ensemble cast including Abhishek Bachchan, Ajay Devgn and Vivek Oberoi, and explored themes of youth, politics and change.
The re-releases come at a time when exhibitors are increasingly tapping into nostalgia-driven programming, with classic and popular films drawing audiences back to theatres.
For fans of these films, the February line-up offers a chance to experience familiar stories and performances once again in a theatrical setting.
