Bollywood star Deepika Padukone has teamed up with tech giant Meta to become the new voice of its artificial intelligence (AI) assistant across several countries, including India, the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, and New Zealand.
According to an ANI report, the actress shared the announcement through her official Instagram account, posting a behind-the-scenes video from a recording studio where she lent her voice for the AI project. In the video, Deepika can be heard saying, “Hi, I am Deepika Padukone. I am the new voice of Meta AI. So tap the ring and my voice will run out.” Sharing the clip, she captioned it, “Okay, so this is pretty cool I think! I’m now part of Meta AI and you can chat with my voice in English across India, United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia, and New Zealand.”
The collaboration marks a significant crossover between Indian entertainment and global tech innovation, as Meta continues to personalize its AI experiences with popular celebrity voices.
Recently, Deepika also made headlines for another milestone — her appointment as the first-ever Mental Health Ambassador by the Union Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (MoHFW). The announcement coincided with World Mental Health Day, reinforcing India’s focus on prioritizing mental well-being as an essential part of public health.
Expressing gratitude for the honour, the Piku actress shared her appreciation in a heartfelt post: “On World Mental Health Day, I am deeply honoured to be appointed as the Union Ministry of Health & Family Welfare’s first-ever Mental Health Ambassador.” She further emphasized India’s progress under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, stating, “Led by our Hon. Prime Minister @narendramodi, our nation has taken meaningful steps to place mental health at the heart of public health.”
Padukone, who founded The Live Love Laugh Foundation (LLL), has been a vocal advocate for mental health awareness for over a decade. She also shared a photograph from her meeting with Union Minister of Health & Family Welfare JP Nadda and Union Health Secretary Punya Salila Srivastava.
On the professional front, Deepika has commenced shooting for ‘King,’ her upcoming film and sixth collaboration with Shah Rukh Khan, following their last blockbuster outing in Jawan, directed by Atlee.
With this partnership, Deepika not only cements her status as one of India’s most influential global icons but also becomes one of the first Indian celebrities to lend her voice to a major AI platform like Meta.
