Sony Entertainment Television’s ‘India’s Best Dancer Season 5’ is set to bring together some of the biggest names who helped shape dance reality shows in India. According to a Sony Entertainment Television press release, an upcoming episode will feature Jaaved Jaaferi, Naved Jaaferi and Ravi Behl, marking a special reunion of the pioneers of Indian dance television.
During the episode, the three veterans will look back at the early 1990s, when the idea of a dance reality show was completely new in India. Ravi Behl recalled how Naved Jaaferi first shared the idea for a dance based television show, which later became the foundation for one of India’s earliest dance reality formats.
Jaaved Jaaferi also spoke about the challenges they faced in introducing dance reality shows and how they worked to make dance accessible to everyone. He said their vision was to give talented dancers from all backgrounds a platform to showcase their skills, regardless of where they came from.
Judge Terence Lewis paid tribute to the trio, saying their contribution changed Indian television and inspired popular dance reality shows like India’s Best Dancer. He added that their work continues to influence the current generation of dancers and creators.
