The trailer of the upcoming crime drama ‘Daldal’, starring Bhumi Pednekkar in the lead, has been unveiled, offering a compelling glimpse into a tense police investigation set against the backdrop of Mumbai.
The series follows the pursuit of a methodical and ruthless serial killer, with Bhumi stepping into the role of a determined senior police officer navigating both professional and personal turmoil.
According to an ANI report, the two-minute-long trailer introduces viewers to DCP Rita Ferreira, portrayed by Pednekkar, as a string of murders rattles the city. The visuals suggest a high-stakes investigation that places immense pressure on her leadership, instincts, and emotional resilience. As the case deepens, the trailer hints at the toll the hunt takes on her personal life, adding layers of conflict to the narrative.
Speaking about her role, Bhumi Pednekkar described Rita Ferreira as one of the most intense characters she has portrayed so far. She said the role required her to explore a complex mix of ambition, vulnerability, self-doubt, and inner strength, making it a creatively fulfilling experience. Her performance appears central to the show’s dark and immersive tone.
‘Daldal’ is directed by Amrit Raj Gupta and produced by Vikram Malhotra and Suresh Triveni under the Abundantia Entertainment banner. The series is created by Suresh Triveni, with writing credits shared by Sreekanth Agneeswaran, Rohan D’Souza, Priya Saggi, and Hussain Haidry. Alongside Bhumi Pednekkar, the show features Samara Tijori and Aditya Rawal in key roles.
The story is adapted from Vish Dhamija’s book Bhendi Bazaar and centres on a calculated killer who plans his crimes meticulously, leaving behind minimal evidence. The narrative focuses on the psychological and procedural challenges faced by the police as they attempt to stay one step ahead of the murderer.
