COLORS, one of India’s leading Hindi general entertainment channels, has launched a new social drama titled ‘Doree’.
The show, which premiered on November 6, 2023, sheds light on the critical issue of girl-child abandonment in India.
‘Doree’ tells the story of a six-year-old girl named Doree who is abandoned at birth but finds a loving home with her foster father, Ganga Prasad. However, Doree’s life is turned upside down when she crosses paths with Kailashi Devi Thakur, the ruler of Varanasi’s handloom empire who deems daughters as unworthy.
The show stars Sudhaa Chandran as Kailashi Devi Thakur, Amar Upadhyay as Ganga Prasad, and Mahi Bhanushali as Doree.
It is produced by Jay and Kinnari Mehtaa’s Jay Mehtaa Productions.
