Hollywood action star Chris Hemsworth is set to return as Tyler Rake as production for ‘Extraction 3’ has officially begun.
According to an ANI report today, the third film in Netflix’s popular action franchise has started filming in New South Wales, Australia, marking the return of one of the platform’s most successful action series.
Chris Hemsworth will reprise his role as Tyler Rake, the fearless black-ops mercenary known for his intense combat skills and dangerous rescue missions.
The film will also feature the return of Golshifteh Farahani as Nik Khan, while actor Idris Elba is expected to continue his role from the previous instalment.
‘Extraction 3’ is once again being directed by Sam Hargrave, who also directed the first two films in the franchise. The movie is being produced by AGBO, the production company founded by Anthony and Joe Russo, who are known for their work on several major Hollywood blockbusters.
The makers have not revealed the full plot details yet, but the upcoming film is expected to continue Tyler Rake’s action-packed journey with bigger missions, high-risk operations, and large-scale action sequences.
The ‘Extraction’ franchise began with the first film releasing on Netflix in 2020, followed by ‘Extraction 2’ in 2023. Both movies received strong responses from viewers worldwide, especially for their fast-paced storytelling and action choreography.
With ‘Extraction 3’, Netflix aims to expand the franchise further and bring another thrilling chapter of Tyler Rake’s story to audiences globally.
