News anchor and journalist Sudhir Chaudhary announced that his digital news show ‘Decode’ has completed one year, recording 1.4 billion digital views across platforms. The milestone was shared by the anchor through a social media post yesterday, marking a year since the launch of the show in 2025 on national broadcaster Doordarshan.
In an Instagram post, Chaudhary described ‘Decode’ as “a new experiment in news” that began on May 15, 2025. Sharing the achievement, he revealed that the show has crossed 1.4 billion views across YouTube, FAST channels, third-party applications and social media platforms. The post also noted that the viewership figure is nearly equivalent to the population of India, which he described as the world’s largest democracy.
The anniversary poster, shared online, highlighted the scale of the show’s digital reach while celebrating one year of ‘Decode’. The graphic featured Chaudhary along with the tagline “Celebrating 1 Year” and cited the data source as COTT (Chrome OTT). According to the details mentioned in the post, the numbers represent total streaming cumulative views per minute across multiple platforms rather than unique reach.
Thanking viewers for their support, Chaudhary wrote that audiences had turned ‘Decode’ into more than just a news programme. He described it as a “daily habit, a conversation and a movement,” reflecting the growing engagement the show has built with digital audiences over the last year.
The journalist also invited viewers to participate in the anniversary celebrations by sharing short video messages about their experiences with the show. He mentioned that selected audience messages may be featured during the anniversary celebration activities.
Over the past year, ‘Decode’ has built a strong digital presence through short-form clips, explainers and news analysis targeted at online audiences. The show’s rapid growth reflects the increasing shift of news consumption towards digital and OTT-driven platforms, especially among younger viewers consuming content across mobile and connected devices.
The one-year milestone further underlines the growing importance of digital-first news programming in India’s evolving media landscape.
